Why am I a great game designer?

The earliest game I remember playing was Street Fighter Alpha 2 on the SNES. My favorite character to play with was Fei Long. I liked him because I was obsessed with Bruce Lee at the time and had seen all his films.

Fast forward to 2019. I had already written a business plan for opening a photography store six years earlier, but when I incorporated, on May 3rd of 2019, it was for Battleganz Games instead. Well, so what? What is it about me that makes me qualified to make good games? What is my competitive advantage in making games?

I can do any game design job well: From writing dialog to building worlds. From programming systems and engines to making game art and menus. From making the music to making sound effects. Even the use of games distribution and self-publishing. I can work competently on any job in the games industry. I can do each individually or all together.

I’ve played some of the best games in world history: Starsiege Tribes. Street Fighter Alpha 2. Metroid Prime. Resident Evil 4. Gran Turismo 3. Twisted Metal Black. Starfox 64. WCW vs. NWO. The list goes on and on. I do not play games as much as I did as a kid, but I have that knowledge about what I like.

I can finish a game on time: The first unofficial game for my Battleganz Games, Carrier Artang, was a difficult game to produce. I had wanted to make an aircraft carrier combat game for years, but I just didn’t have the skill. In 2023, I decided I was going to finish. I finished without a single day to spare. Amazing.

I make high-quality games: My first two games on Newgrounds received around a 2.35 out of 5 score on Newgrounds. That may not look like a lot, but it is an amazing score, especially for a solo developer who does not have much experience. I have made some very high-quality games from tutorials as well, fulfilling all requirements with ease.

I enjoy the work: I am not as much of a games fanatic as I was as a kid. Back then, if I didn’t have my Nintendo, Windows or Sony fix (sorry, Xbox) I would lose my mind. The ultimate hack in gaming is when you make up the rules yourself. Wouldn’t life be so much more fun that way?

Making games is not easy. I know that there are so many ways that a game can be bad or not successful. But I also know that I have what it takes to make great games. I want to make games that people enjoy for generations, no exaggeration.

I can make games that stand the test of time. What I would like to do is come up with a system that produces great games at minimal cost. I have what it takes to make some great things. But now is the time to begin my journey into business and life.
