Why am I being rejected?

Why am I being rejected?

Why am I being rejected?

It's one of the most common questions job seekers ask when applying for a new role.

I wanted to deal with this head-on and talk about what you can do to improve your chances in the future.

Businesses commonly ask for a high level of competency in computer software and it can mean multiple software expertise.

You'll see from these questionnaire results for a 3D Visualiser role we have, exactly what hiring managers are looking for and this individual's results:

Trend

At AE Recruitment, we are seeing more and more companies looking for individuals who are very proficient with multiple computer software programes.

We're even asked to find Interior Designers and Design Architects with Revit, for example, so that drawings can be easily passed through different departments during the lifescycle of the project.

Solution

Recruiting is a difficult process for everyone involved however what can you do to improve your chances in the future?

Seeing as the vast majority of job seekers don't get through based on their computer competency there is one big proactive solution to this and it is LEARN, LEARN, LEARN.

Industries are constantly improving and upgrading the software they use so the best solution is doing to your homework about what software the companies you want to work for are using.

So get yourself on those courses and practice, practice, practice.

With design based industries there's the added hurdle of matching design styles but you have the power to control certain elements of where your career is heading and technology/software is one of them, so plan what you want for your career and set those motions in action.

Conclusion

Unfortunately, no one can wave a magic wand and teach you everything you need to know to help your future career but there are people out there who go over and above what's required of them to learn, hone their skills. and they're the ones that get chosen in the recruitment process.

Remember, no one sees all the work people do in the background to become successful in their fields.

Frustratingly success doesn't happen overnight, it can be a long drawn out process but try try, try again and you will be rewarded for your efforts
