Almost all job seekers in your 40s, 50s or 60s do a poor jobs of selling yourselves to employers in your resumes and interviews.
And this likelihood that you undersell yourselves causes you to lose jobs when you're qualified, often to less experienced (and less expensive candidates).
This often feels like hiring agism, but it's actually something you can change. But it's likely you need help to improve how you sell yourself - Most age 40+ job seekers can't do this well by themselves.
It affects almost all age 40+ job seekers, from entry level to CEO, no matter your job function, level or industry.
Even people you wouldn't expect to experience these problems do a poor job of selling themselves, including experienced sales people, HR and recruiters (who have some of the worst problems selling themselves).
But it's not your fault - You were raised this way. Boomers and GenX job seekers were taught not to brag. As children, we were scolded or punished for selling ourselves by parents, teachers, clergy and other authority figures.
