Why the actions you take today decide who you're becoming tomorrow

We are now several weeks into a changed world order. Focus has completely shifted not only in the global news but also in our internal dialogue. You are most likely going through a powerful cycle of thoughts and emotions ?? After losing your previous go-to distractions you might have found new ones. Are you spending more time than ever on your phone reacting to what’s going on around you or are you taking action, and matters into your own hands??
What I’m going to say next is very important: Today you’re making a choice WHO you will become through this. ?
Now remember what you’ve learned about building habits. It doesn’t matter if you believe in the 21 days rule or not, fact is that you’re setting yourself up with new behavioral patterns right now. And I’m not saying this from a place of theory. I have been there. Last week I experienced a very difficult and triggering situation that had immediate impact on my primary needs of safety and security. Did I feel overwhelmed? Definitely. But I also knew I had to rise to the occasion and make a decision - if I’d let myself drown in a sea of negative emotions or if I would reclaim control and move through it. ??
You might be experiencing one or several similar meltdowns these days. Please know that this is perfectly normal and a healthy reaction to the recent developments. Please take everything you need to navigate through these difficult and triggering events and refill your baseline around your most crucial needs ?????
And once you’ve done that I’d like to invite you to dust yourself off and lay the foundations for the person you need to BECOME through this extraordinarily challenging time that we’re going through right now ? ?
The choices that you’re making today will define your tomorrow. If you’re feeling overwhelmed/lost/stuck/blocked/stressed I have compiled the following measures for you to reclaim control and power NOW:?????
? Silence the chatter around you. Be super selective about what kind of information and news you’re consuming and from where/whom. Take time offline away from your phone and especially from social media (including Linkedin!) as much as you need.????
? Strip away everything that’s not serving you right now. Look at your daily habits and be honest with yourself about the activities you’re engaging in. Are they distracting or empowering you?
? Find new focus through choosing what serves you. Consciously choose people and activities. Set boundaries. Don’t be afraid to say no to something or someone.
? Declutter your space and your schedule to reflect your inner clarity and set yourself up for successfully forming new purposeful habits.
? Consciously gather and organize resources. Only choose the ones you really need to take the next step on your journey of growing into who you want to become.
