Why 94% CS/IT engineers fail in interview?
A recent study by Indian employability assessment company, “Aspiring Minds” claims that 94% of engineers who appear for interview in top product based companies are not fit for job. The report also adds that only 4.77% candidates who appear for an interview can write the correct logic for a program. The results are alarming since this means millions of engineers passing out are not fit for top IT companies. Isn’t it an issue that needs to be addressed today?
Well, we did our research and found astonishing results. The decreasing employability among CS/IT engineers depends on multiple facts. Engineering students are unable to crack interviews not only due to lack of skills, but also due to lack of knowledge and guidance. Many graduating engineers don’t even know how to prepare for interviews. Even some good programmers get stuck down the pipeline because of partial knowledge about interview rounds and previous interview experiences. It is difficult for any person to crack an interview without proper guidance.
You can be a college student, a fresh grad who is going through the interview process for the first time. Maybe you are an experienced software engineer who hasn’t even thought about interviews for a few years. Either way, the first step in the interview process is usually to read a bunch of online interview guides (especially if they are written by companies you are interested in) and to discuss with friends about their experiences with the interview process.
More likely than not, what you read and learn in this first, “exploratory” phase of the interview process will help you decide how you choose to prepare moving forward. Thus, the first step should be reliable and rigid.
To help you out, GeeksforGeeks has designed a free online course for Interview Preparation where you learn from experiences of thousands of people aggregated at one place by our expert reviewers. The course features coding practice questions, resume building approach, details about interview rounds and interview experiences of thousands of CS/IT companies. There are customized practice tracks to keep a track of preparation. Also, the course boasts contests which provide a competitive environment to bring out the best in a programmer.
Rather than asking your friends about their interview experience and risking your chance to get your dream job, register to this free online course and learn from experts- “How to crack an interview in product based companies.”

5 年The idea that most CSE graduates in india don't study Algo & DS well is true. BUT I think aspiring minds have also calculated the ones who do not pursue towards SDE profiles and giving the test on campus. There are many possible opportunities at top companies as well. However, GeeksforGeeks is Encyclopedia for all apprentices.
