For two decades you have been a voice-over artist, journalist, marketer, podcaster, and experienced provider. What keeps you going?

The joy and freedom of being able to express different parts of me are what fuels me. We are multidimensional beings living in a multidimensional world, why live a 2-D life? Being gifted with many talents is not unique to me but I ensure that I explore all avenues and take all the risks needed to connect to the world around me through the skills I have honed over the years so I can grab every wonderful opportunity that comes my way.

What's your motivation behind doing food & heritage tours in Mumbai?

Food is a universal connector like music, and without it, we won't survive. Food carries so much joy and stories of its origin, of the people who cook and serve. You can build a connection with strangers just by sharing food with them. It's a primal community creator and showing someone around my city through its food is a fantastic way of sending that tourist or guest back with a piece of the city inside them!

A city's heritage is its biggest charm and being born and growing up in Bombay, now Mumbai has been such a crazy experience because it is unlike any city in the world. Despite being a megapolis, compared to the bustling New York and at par with Tokyo, Paris, and London, Bombay has so many unbelievable sides that most are not privy to.?

Being a Mumbai girl, what are unknown parts of the city people should know?

There are spots in the city that will make you question whether you are in the city - from quaint Catholic neighbourhoods like Cavell, Kotachiwadi and Orlem to places of oasis-like calm and worship such as Banganga Tank, the Golden Pagoda, the Knesset Eliyahoo Synagogue, the Holy Name Cathedral and even the Babulnath temple, too little village-like hamlets in the middle of the city in Byculla, Sewri, Dadar, Mahim, Bandra, Juhu, Santa Cruz, Vile Parle, Goregaon and many more spots - you cannot believe how colourful and vibrant Bombay can be.

We see that you are a home chef as well, what's the story behind romancing food?

I have been a huge fan of gastronomy from a young age and picked up many culinary & mixology skills along the way from books, people and short courses over the years.?

I love teaching people and sharing these skills in a fun and easy manner, inspiring in them the same love of food that fills me with joy.?

I enjoy preparing healthy food without sacrificing taste and believe that anyone can learn to do this. I also love showing kids how they can make magic in the kitchen, I believe this truly teaches them the value of being self-reliant from a young age.?

My studio kitchen is spacious and cosy, can easily accommodate up to 20-25 people at a time, and is conveniently located close to the highway.?

I especially like doing super short, exciting workshops during birthday parties, kitty parties and Sunday brunches where everyone cooks and eats together.

Can you share some goals & plans that you have to impact society?

I ran a charity initiative called The Bicycle Project India for 12 years (2008-2020) where we collected bicycles from building societies across the city, and after refurbishing and repairing, we would donate them to tribal rural school children in villages just outside Mumbai city so they could avoid walking long distances to school.

I am currently a trustee and co-founder of an NGO called ReCreate Collective which helps raise awareness about gender-based violence and offers survivors recourse through sustainable, creative solutions.
