Why 2024 Will Be a Great Year!

I believe 2024 will be an exciting year full of opportunities and growth for our industry. Why’s that?
Well firstly, the economy seems to be re-stabilizing after the shocks of COVID and the supply chain disruptions that followed. Consumers are growing more optimistic and there is huge excitement over advances in AI, or “augmented intelligence” as Intel CEO, Pat Gelsinger , calls it. Intel’s “AI Everywhere” event on December 14 highlighted how AI will add value to every aspect of our digital ecosystem. Pat showed how Intel is working hard to enable this transformation with a wide range of AI capabilities infused into open, standardized hardware and software building blocks for the datacenter, network, cloud, and desktop.
Even more exciting to me, in this atmosphere of opportunity and optimism, is the announcement that the Programmable Solution Group (PSG) will run as a separate business in the future. This will give us greater agility to pursue our mission of enabling innovators to quickly integrate extensive logic, signal processing, AI and interconnectivity into a unique single or multi-die solution. As I said, the adoption of AI is creating a huge opportunity for growth, especially at the edge, where AI infused, purpose-built systems can directly affect the lives of human beings interacting with devices of every kind. We’ll see many amazing new solutions next year in areas as far ranging as consumer products, industrial controls, medical diagnostics, image and video processing, automotive, aerospace and many others.

As an example of how AI will touch our lives in so many ways, consider marketing through social media. Per Professor Rachel Kennedy and her colleagues from the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute , ”Great creative is 10-20X more effective at driving sales” than dry text-only social posts. We used AI augmented graphics tools to simplify the creation of our recent “Smart City” animation for a LinkedIn post inviting customers to the upcoming Vision Webinar mentioned above.
We’re also exploring other ways to use AI to enhance our marketing motions, especially digital content marketing. Social media platforms, publications and advertisers are moving away from simple banner ads to AI-based platforms that guide viewers to specific information they need to make informed purchase decisions. These platforms use AI to understand what followers are looking for and present useful information from a huge database of available content. The goal is to convert content marketing from an annoyance to a valuable support system helping customers find information, make data-driven decisions, and get successful products to market faster. AI can augment many existing marketing automation and data analysis tools to produce immediate benefits for marketers and customers.
