Why 1+1=2 is so difficult?
Imagine you have a machine that knows nothing about math. Then you just keep telling it "10+2=12", "28+43=71" .... One day, the machine found out "Ah! This is the addition and I know how to do it". Then it can tell you "1+1=2" even though you have not told it before. In addition, it can tell you the answer of “8366337+2947382” faster than anyone in the world.
So the challenge is not how to program a machine to do addition. The challenge is to make the machine learn what is the addition and how to do addition by itself.
The Imagination
If the machine can learn addition, it can learn other arithmetic such as subtraction, multiplication or even more complex arithmetic like division.
Remember what you are not programming a machine to these, the machine learns these by itself.
You can imagine that this learning capability could be extended much beyond these simple maths. The machine could learn complex analytic models, or even devise the model that human being don’t know.
At that moment, you have to learn from the machine.
It looks like a science fiction but it is happening today. Today’s Artificial Intelligence can build the machine that can learn complex model by itself.
The Application In Banking
Artificial Intelligence can work out new investment models by scanning through billions of data. It could suggest the perfect model portfolios for different investment appetites. It could advise different investment strategies in different market situations. It could beat the human being in investment in one day.
So harnessing Artificial Intelligence and making it be our core investment advisory tool is the key success factor in the coming investment arena.
