Working with Barnet PCN 3

We have been really lucky to work with such a forward-thinking, supportive PCN that wanted to invest in their organisational development.

Working with Barnet PCN 3, positively reiterated to me:

?? It's often the small things compounded over time

?? It's 'soft' stuff that makes good leaders great

?? It's about inviting feedback and a sounding board and really listening to what is and is not being said

?? It's about knowing when to step in and step back

?? It's about being clear with expectations

?? It's about creating an environment which fosters high performance and room to grow.

This primary care network leadership and management team are ????.

It's been an absolute pleasure and lots of fun!

Tara’s JDRF Ultra Challenge

As many of you will know this September Tara is embarking on completing 4 ultra marathons.

With 6 weeks left to go the mileage is ramping up and Tara is sharing how she is training behind the scenes here.

The Challenge

That's 184k or 112 miles in the month of September.

Tara is running to raise awareness of type 1 diabetes and the wonderful work carried out by JDRF.

Tara’s youngest daughter Tahlia was diagnosed on Christmas Day 2017 and was so unwell she was taken to the Evelina Children's Hospital.

Whilst Tahlia manages her diabetes through the support of technology she wears on her body 24 hours a day, it's a condition which is constantly on our minds and it's a condition which has to be taken into consideration with everything she does.

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease where your body can’t make a hormone called insulin.

Insulin is the main treatment for type 1 diabetes and those with this condition can’t live without insulin injections or using an insulin pump.
