Are you confident that your sales team can close deals and generate revenue? Who is responsible for their training and development? It's crucial to have a knowledgeable and experienced trainer/coach/mentor to ensure your salespeople are equipped with the skills and techniques needed to succeed in a competitive market. So, who's training your salespeople? ?
As someone who has held various leadership positions in a dealership, I completely agree that training and managing?a sales team can be a daunting task. However, I believe that it can be made easier and more agreeable by adopting a more collaborative approach.?
According to Merriam-Webster, training is defined as teaching someone to make them fit, qualified, or proficient. So, this requires much more than training in a morning sales meeting or weekly one-on-ones, which most managers deem sufficient. ?
Effective sales training requires much more than just a one-time session, weekly check-ins or one-size-fits-all all training for the team.?It requires personalized training for each team member, considering their individual learning styles and communication preferences and helping them develop better selling habits.?
As leaders, we are responsible for ensuring that our team members receive adequate training and development. However, in most cases, we do not have sufficient time to offer the level of attention and support that our team members require. This is a valid concern as leading a team can be time-consuming and demanding. To provide a solid foundation for our team members, it is not enough to simply fill gaps in their knowledge or skills. We must actively engage with them and provide opportunities for learning and growth. To address this challenge, we can adopt strategies such as prioritizing training and development, delegating tasks to other team members, and leveraging technology to streamline processes. By doing so, we can create a supportive and empowering work environment that enables our team members to thrive.?
The Michael Thomas Method is an effective way to facilitate learning, knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and productivity. It involves taking an individualized approach to understand each team member's unique needs and working closely with them to achieve their goals. By employing this method, we can help our team members thrive and produce more.?
So, let us work together to make training more agreeable and effective for everyone involved. Invest in your sales team, and you will see the results in your people and the business's bottom line.?
