Who’s running the show?

When you’re making decisions, do you let your heart or your head make the final decision?

In an ideal world, we’d all be able to make rational decisions about everything, but sometimes it just doesn’t happen that way.

Maybe you’ve fallen in love with a property and are so desperate to have it that you end up paying over the odds. Maybe you’re selling and you’ve got a bit hung up on a certain price, but all the offers are way under that.

Perhaps you’re a bit of a gambler and you prefer make decisions based on your gut feeling. That might work once or twice, but that would be luck! It’s no way to run an investment strategy.

The key to any decisions you might make is to keep a cool head at all times. Make your decisions based on cold, hard facts, and don’t let emotions be the driving force behind your actions – you have to stay objective to succeed! ?

5 steps to stop your emotions taking over

1.?????? Never make any immediate decisions – always take time to stop and think

2.?????? Never call something a ‘no-brainer’ – if it looks to good to be true, it probably is

3.?????? Always do your due diligence and stress test every deal

4.?????? Get a second opinion (from someone who isn't emotionally invested)

5.?????? Don’t panic!

Podcast 223. The National Retrofit Plan & SEAI Grants Explained

In this episode I discuss the recent in-person event featuring guest speaker Krystyna Rawicz, who shared insights on property investment and building surveying. The conversation transitions into the National Retrofit Plan for Ireland, focusing on energy efficiency and the role of the SEAI in managing grants for property upgrades.

I elaborate on the grant application process, highlighting the challenges and requirements for homeowners and property investors. The episode concludes with a discussion on the future implications of property upgrades in the housing market.
