Who's the Real Winner?
To yet another article written in the pursuit of my educational journey in the forefront of software business development, I knew it was time to dig deeper into a broader spectrum.
This broader spectrum happened to be between two of the world's biggest rivals, SAP and Oracle. These two advanced, world class technology giants both beginning in the 1970's, have assisted and supported the growth of thousands of companies all across the world.
It is safe to say that without these two players in the software industry, the business success of America would not be where it is today. When a company chooses to invest in technology, it is always a choice that has almost no downsides.
After working for Celeritech for almost a year now in sales, I knew that the beginning of my career had to be to educate myself fully with the world of software.
In a world so competitive in the age of enterprise digital transformation
And, as you can tell from my previous posts, sometimes business teams need to sit down when they know it's time to expand from their current usage of QuickBooks.
QuickBooks is a great tool don't get me wrong, but when a company is expanding exponentially
Therefore, a company does two things: it either gets a few add-ons for QuickBooks, which is a temporary solution, or it decides to go with an Enterprise Resource Planning software.
ERP solutions are known worldwide as being robust, advanced, and all-encompassing platforms
I knew that it was time for me to get outside of the world of SAP Business One, the sturdy ERP that Celeritech sells, to see what the other ERP competitors were offering to the table.
And, as you can see with the title of this article, I knew where I needed to start with researching this software giant first: Oracle NetSuite.
It is no secret that SAP Business One and Oracle NetSuite are two heavyweight boxing competitors, hosting two strong solutions that have assisted businesses around the planet. It is also no secret that NetSuite offers a very sophisticated solution-- but after my long sessions of research, I am here to provide readers with all of the statues that make SAP Business One come out on top.
You might think, "Tyler, obviously you are only writing this article because you sell SAP Business One to clients."
But, I would not be selling a software if I wasn't passionate about it's strength, value, reliability, and advantage.
I also would not be working for Celeritech if it wasn't the customer-centric, elite, and support-driven motive it has.
I have the honor of both being an employee of a company whose main mission is combatting business needs, while selling an elite software that has beneficially changed the operations of businesses in 170 different countries.
So, I have come to you with raw data and a case to prove why SAP Business One and Celeritech have the best ERP solution for any company who wishes to expand.
Oracle NetSuite vs. SAP Business One
On-Premise and Cloud
If you were a business owner and you were investing in a brand-new technology, don't you think you would want the option to decide where that data is stored? If you had your own information technology team that was able to manage your servers in house, don't you think you would want the ability to have your ERP system inside the walls of your business?
With SAP Business One, you can have the ability of going on-premise or going cloud. You have the decision to make the best decision for your company based on your current resources and tools.
Meanwhile, solutions like Oracle NetSuite only allow for a cloud version. Why let Oracle decide where you keep your data? If you are not comfortable with a cloud solution and want to host everything in-house, why does Oracle get to tell your company what to do?
SAP Business One allows your growing company to choose where you want to have your data, completely up to whatever the client feels more at-ease with. Celeritech, SAP Business One seller and provider, is more than happy to provide companies with on-premise functionalities.
With that being said, when it comes to being able to decide what's best for your company and where data is stored, SAP Business One is the obvious and clear winner of this boxing match.
Sorry Oracle.
Partner Relationships
This topic had me quite confused, and honestly was a little comical.
I am used to the world of SAP Business One where only SAP Partners, like Celeritech, work with companies to sell licenses provided by SAP itself.
So to put in easier words, SAP supports partner software companies to sell SAP Business One and implement for clients. When a company decides they want to go with an SAP solution, they can go through big SAP, but then SAP decides which partner is the best for suiting their needs.
With that being said, I have had a great relationship with an SAP CSM who has provided Celeritech with leads who need help with ERP and eCommerce operations (in which Celeritech has a niche passion).
SAP knows its partners very well and supports them with sales, implementation, and so much more.
But, NetSuite obviously has a different relationship strategy with it's partners, one that is a little comical and nervy.
There are Oracle partner companies that sell NetSuite but it is not apparent whether Oracle supports these partners as much as SAP supports theirs. And the reason I saw this is because Oracle has its own sales reps that sells NetSuite.
So therefore, Oracle partners that sell NetSuite are competing against a world-wide company to sell software licenses.
Imagine competing against a tech giant every single day to sell to customers, a tech giant that is supposed to be supporting you?
Seems a bit shady and, quite honestly, unfair to me.

But, there is another winner to this boxing match-- and I have to have the medal to SAP Business One.
Let's Talk Functionality
This one can be seen as a close call when it comes to the SAP Business One vs. Oracle NetSuite Boxing match-- and here is why.
Both solutions offer very competitive prices and capabilities, and since they are very intricate, detailed, and complex systems, they can often be a chunk of change and surely an corporate investment.
NetSuite can be a little hard to judge how much they will charge, because they are never clear in their approach. Their licensing model is much more complicated and harder to understand than to that of SAP Business One.
NetSuite payment terms are a year in advance-- and they throw a lot of expenses in as the project progresses. When NetSuite doesn't have the solutions that the client needs, they solely rely on going through third party add-ons to stick onto their platform. And, obviously, the price rapidly inclinates when there are a bunch of intertwined third party add-ons within your NetSuite platform.
A quote for NetSuite probably seems like a CVS receipt!
Celeritech, SAP Business One provider, charges licenses based on the core platform functionalities that the client needs and the number of users We don't lie when we tell the client there is something we don't do-- we are fully honest with every customer when there is something that we might have to outsource through a third party software company.
When it comes to functionality, SAP Business One easily has the upper hand with all analytical tools
NetSuite and Oracle Partners are still frantically trying to develop more add-ons because they know their software is not strong enough to compete against SAP.
SAP Business One is continuously upgrading the product that is currently assisting many customers and clients, especially in the manufacturing space. And with Celeritech's love for the food and beverage manufacturing and eCommerce markets, Celeritech never stops consulting for customers help them make the best business decisions.
With using NetSuite, you get a charge before you even come up with a question to ask.
One thing that I found while researching that really turned me the wrong way was the fact that NetSuite Partners and vendors offer initial costs by removing basic functionality and selling them as add-ons.
The NetSuite Starter only comes with financials. Literally, only financials. Then, any other module or accessibility you want comes with a hefty cost.
When you choose to go with Oracle NetSuite, don't put your wallet away after you pay your initial fee. Going with a software solution like NetSuite is constantly opening your wallet over and over and over again.
SAP Business One Partners, like Celeritech, are honest and upfront about the price through the entire journey and don't leave you surprised.
Celeritech even provides prospective customers with a quote after the first introduction meeting that we have! We are not here to scam you, we are here to help you and combat your business problems head on.
Wish I could say the same about Oracle, but unfortunately I cannot.
The Implementation Process
The thing that I love most about Celeritech, and one of the reasons I love most with working as a member of this team, is because I believe and resonate with the mission and vision.
Celeritech is not interested in making money off of customers. We are a group of passionate and energetic consultants whose main priority is enabling companies with all the necessary tools for profitable scaling
Celeritech is upfront and honest about the costs before the implementation process even takes place, when the customer is in the sales pipeline. Celeritech provides the company with the entire layout of when every single project segment will take place, and we are clear about any cost that might be added on to the process.
NetSuite and NetSuite sellers, on the other hand, aren't as sincere.
NetSuite charges customers heavily and blindly throughout the entire implementation cycle, where you'll often find yourself in the project working with third parties and expensive middlewares because NetSuite lacks full functionality.
With SAP Business One implementation through Celeritech, you will be working with one singular partner, in which you trust, throughout the entire project lifecycle. And, we never leave your side either after your ERP goes live. We don't nickel and dime you for every question you have when the project is completed.
Our sole mission is to see your company succeed-- not to put more money into our pockets.
NetSuite can be a strong product, I don't want to diminish that, but the way that they treat their customers cannot even be on the same ladder as that of SAP.
SAP Business One providers, like Celeritech, put the customer first
To conclude this Boxing Match Article between SAP Business One and Celeritech, I would feel guilty if all I did was bash another software. NetSuite has indeed helped companies succeed and flourish, and I don't want to downplay that.
But, I also am here to say that SAP Business One has done the same, and the process with SAP Business One is a road that is a lot less bumpy and without any potholes.
If you are a company that is looking to transform with an ERP system that connects all of your selling channels, inventory, vendor relationships, finances, purchasing, analytics, and HR, reach out to Celeritech.
We are here for you and the profitable success of your growing enterprise. Always.
