Who's The Alpha? How to Earn Respect In Elite Circles
Everyone wants to be the Alpha in the room.
But when do you know when you're too big for the room you're in? When does being on top mean you're playing too small?
If you’re always the strongest, smartest, most accomplished person in the room, then you’re limiting your growth.
Dominating a room that doesn’t challenge you might feel good, but it won’t get you to the next level.
The true test of an Alpha is knowing when it’s time to leave your comfort zone and step into a room full of bigger players. Because only a true Alpha would know that staying comfortable is just another form of being stuck.
What Does It Take To Be The Alpha?
The higher you climb in business and net worth, the more you’re surrounded by other Alphas—ultra-successful individuals who command attention just by being present.
But even among these top-tier players, there’s always one Alpha who stands above the rest.
I recently joined Patrick Bet-David at The Clever Summit in Miami, where he spoke about earning respect and recognizing the true Alpha in any room. It was powerful, and it got me thinking—how does one truly earn respect when you’re already playing at the top?
It all boiled down to respect.
Everyone wants respect. But not everyone is willing to do what it takes to earn it. And the higher you climb, the more you have to prove yourself.
Results: The Ultimate Currency
So, how do you earn respect in these elite circles?
Results.
There are levels to it. You might be the top dog at $100K, but what about at $1M? $10M? $100M? The stakes keep getting higher.
When you reach a certain point, it’s no longer just about success. It’s about how much impact you’ve made.
How many obstacles have you shattered? How many times have you proven that you’re the last one standing?

The Trump Effect
Let’s take a look at Trump. Regardless of your political stance, you can’t deny one thing—the man doesn’t stop.
I flew into Long Island on a whim to catch one of his rallies, my fourth time seeing him live. 100K people RSVP’d, but the stadium only held 16K.
People lined up at 4:30 in the morning just to get a glimpse. Senators, governors, business tycoons. Everybody paid their respects.
Why? Because they know who the #1 Alpha in the room is.
Trump didn’t get there by accident. He’s a billionaire businessman who, love him or hate him, commands attention. From talk shows to rallies, he’s relentless. Tireless. When I first saw him speak in 2016, he hit three states in one day!
The man is in his 70s and still going strong.
That’s respect earned.
Levels of Respect: What’s Your Target?
So, what level of respect are you aiming for? Or even better... whose?
Are you willing to work for it? To put your ego on the line and enter rooms where you’re not the biggest fish? Or do you prefer staying comfortable, playing it safe in circles where you’re already the top dog?
The choice is yours.
