#WhoMakesItHappen: Nebiyu Daniel

During the pandemic, most of us were fortunate enough to switch to full-time remote work. Many others, however, were still working at the office to keep things running. Everyone needs a working laptop and a way to connect to their colleagues -- that's where Nebiyu Daniel and AccelerEd's Desktop Support team come in.

Who do you call when you have an issue with your laptop? The helpdesk of course! Nebiyu and his team of six oversees the flow of day-to-day operations, helping onboard UMGC and AccelerEd employees, and ensuring issues are addressed promptly. And their contributions don't end at fixing our problems. They help test various tools and brainstorm ideas to enhance the end-user experience, too.

Before joining AccelerEd, Nebiyu worked directly for UMGC in Desktop Support and has been working in IT for over 15 years.

Travel, Football, and Italian Food

Born and raised in Ethiopia, Nebiyu moved to the U.S. in 2007. He enjoys watching football (he notes it is called football, not soccer) and is a huge fan of Manchester United. He loves traveling and has visited 30+ countries including Italy, where, instead of yet another museum tour, he went on a 4-hour food tour. So, it comes as no surprise that his favorite food is well...anything Italian.
