#WhoMakesItHappen: Gene Davis
As AccelerEd's Operations Manager,? Gene Davis ?ensures that the day-to-day operations of UMGC's U.S.-based IT Service Desk and Service Center go as smoothly as possible.
Gene has been with AccelerEd for 4 years and, prior to joining us, was an Operations Manager with UMGC directly. Anything from staff having trouble making outbound calls to updating distribution lists, to managing access to various UMGC systems.
World-Class Support
In his role, Gene works with other departments to make sure both the IT Service Desk and Service Center have the tools, access, and instructions they need to support UMGC’s staff, faculty, and students. Gene also helps with ticket handling, account creation, and problem management to ensure that UMGC receives world-class customer support—especially during UMGC’s peak seasons: the first week of January and the start of the fall season.?
He also uses his expertise with systems and how they interact to turn them into Knowledge Articles that our technicians and customers use to resolve issues. He and his team also recently played an integral part in a large project for the University that entailed streamlining the classroom environment for students and faculty, resulting in an enhanced, consistent experience that enables higher levels of teaching and learning.
