Wholeheartedly Celebrating Cardiovascular Disease Researchers During Heart Health Month
Did you know that heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, accounting for one in every five deaths? While contributing factors are complex, the American Heart Association estimates direct and indirect costs of total Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) were $407.3 billion ($251.4 billion in direct costs and $155.9 billion in lost productivity/mortality) between 2018 and 2019.
This month is American Heart Month, and at Caligor Coghlan , we want to pay tribute to the researchers working tirelessly to address those staggering numbers. With potentially 90% of CVDs considered reversible through lifestyle changes, some healthcare companies are focused on disease management through technology that empowers patients. Others are making strides in imaging for stent placement, anticoagulant and hypertension drugs, and expanding treatment options for people with limb-threatening peripheral arterial disease (PAD).
