Wondering whether juicing makes fruits and vegetables more healthy than eating them as a whole?
Juice provides most of the vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients found in whole fruits and vegetables, so that’s a good thing.
But despite marketing promises, juicing results in nutrient loss.
Juice typically has less fiber than whole fruit. The juice extractor separates the juice from the pulp in short order. The pulp, which includes edible peel, contains nutrients and phytonutrients…
And so if you drink only the juice, you miss out on the fiber and other nutritional benefits from the pulp.
So in short: whole fruits and vegetables contain more nutrients than their juice variants.
Although a nice refreshing juice during a hot summer day is often described as refreshing and delicious.
