As a professional speaker, I travel across, delivering keynotes and conducting masterclasses.

One such engagement brought me to Bengaluru.

“How to say NO, to grow your business”; was the topic of my masterclass. The audience was engaged and very participative, as is always the case with Bengaluru.

After the session, I had a few attendees walk up with questions and ideas. One such person who came forward was KriShne Gowda.

KriShne:?Pravin, I loved your session. I have a question.

Pravin:?Before that, Krishne, I have a question. Who is your tailor? I love your custom-designed outfit and the unique embroidery. Answer that, and I will answer your question!!!!

KriShne:?Definitely, I will share his contact, but I need some more time with you. I have a few more questions.

Pravin:?OK, let’s meet for lunch tomorrow.

KriShne:?Done, please come over to my office!

The next day, I reached his office to find Mahaboob Shaik waiting for me.

Mahaboob was KriShne’s tailor, and he was waiting in the office with a big smile. Mahaboob stood there, with a measuring tape in hand and a few design swatches for me to select from! Mahaboob sized me up, and before I could say anything, he spoke.

Mahaboob:?Sir, I can see that you focus a lot on personal branding and style. I am a bespoke tailor, and KriShne is one of my clients. I know clearly what style to stitch for you. I will make an outfit for you as a showpiece of my work. Once you try it on and like it, I will make a few more. I have my own unique way to custom fit. I can see you are an aficionado. Please select the design and leave the rest to me.

I selected one that I liked and kept looking at other swatches. Mahaboob politely asked me to stop. He said that he would stitch one and only one, and then if I like it, we can look at other designs that he shall share on Whatsapp or through the mail.

The dress arrived three days later, fitted to perfection and a totally new design (for me). This design has become my signature outfit wherever I speak across the world. When I get off the stage, quite a few people walk up and compliment me on the dressing style and ask me for the name of my tailor!

It is obvious Krishne loved his tailor. He knew I am a person who appreciates customisation and uniqueness — and expressed a clear need.

Krishne did not just introduce me to his tailor; he made sure I EXPERIENCED his tailor’s design and service.
