Who goes to a space launch to watch the launch pad? All eyes are on the rocket as it lights up the sky. The launchpad gets lost in the light, noise, and smoke.
Who goes to a concert to cheer on the sound booth??You only notice them if there is a technical glitch.
How many people collect rookie cards of the grounds crew?? While they are patching the field between innings, we are getting a hotdog.
Yet without the launch pad, sound booth, and grounds crew, our launches, concerts, and games don’t happen.
Every office has someone Behind Every Significant Task (BEST).?

Every time you finish a presentation, and the crowd applauds, you know in the back?of your mind, that some of that appreciation should be going to your BEST, but they are busy preparing for the next presentation.
Every time you go to the supply room to get the equipment you need; you understand your BEST placed it there, but no one saw them do it.
Whenever you can’t find the location of a specific file on your network, your BEST is the person you go to.
If the?name of your BEST doesn’t spring to mind, look at your desk phone and find the extension line with the?most wear.?Look at the wear pattern of the carpet outside of your office door, follow it, and see where it leads you.?Filter your sent email folder for the recipient to whom you sent the?most “High Importance” emails.?That’s your BEST.
