Consultancy and Advisory:

Consultants and Advisers have been in demand since time immemorial. Akbar had Birbal, Vikram had Vetal and so on. There we also different consultants for different aspects of work and life. Today we know the work related consultants by the name of PwC, KPMG, Bain etc. and personal consultants often wear the hats of gurus, like Sadguru, HH Dalai Lama etc. really speaking what is the role they play in our lives? In the workplace they guide and tell us how best to run as aspect of our business, and personally they nudge us to lead more productive lives. We may believe ourselves to be the best judge and hence the best consultant for our stream of work or our own best adviser.

I believe, 50% of the time we are our best adviser, and the rest 50% of the time we need to rely of external conditions and factors to complete the bigger picture, and this second part is what I call experience, and use it synonymous with Consultants and advisers. Some of us are gifted and others trained early on to see things as they really are and can be our own advisers and consultants. Most of us may benefit with external help, and to a point where we can see the picture laterally expanding, encompassing a larger picture, or going deeper into the focal point and excavating an in depth insight.
