Who is your Accountant?

Who is your Accountant?

Dear Employer of Labor,

Salary week just ended! And I know you pour your heart and soul into your business. But, in the hustle and bustle of managing operations, it's easy to forget one crucial aspect: paying yourself.

This is why I want to know who your accountant is, so I can sue him or her if they have. never mentioned to you that you should be on the company’s payroll?

Don't tell me to calm down! Because, you know what, at the end of each month, It's tempting to prioritize paying bills, suppliers, and employees over your compensation.?

Why???? Don't you deserve some compensation too? You need to be taken care of too! Anyone who works must eat after labour.

I hope you know that knowing you're taking care of yourself financially can boost your motivation and energy, helping you tackle business challenges with renewed enthusiasm. It even encourages financial discipline. The easiest way to achieve this is to work with your Accountant to set a regular pay schedule, determine a fair salary for you , and automate the process.?

Before you crucify me, paying yourself a salary is not out of place; it's essential for your well-being and the long-term success of your business. It is also a way of treating the business as a separate entity from your person. It also means you don’t just dip your hand into the business purse as you are meant to take care of your personal expenses from the salary the business pays you. Make paying yourself first a priority. Your business – and your financial stability – will thank you.

MSME Africa Tip of the Week

Embrace the Power of 'Good Enough'

As entrepreneurs, we often strive for perfection in our products, services, and businesses. However, this pursuit of perfection can lead to analysis paralysis, delays, and missed opportunities. Remember that 'good enough' can be, well, good enough! Sometimes, it's better to launch a 'good enough' product or service, gather feedback, and iterate than to wait for the perfect solution.

Don't let the quest for perfection hold you back from taking action and making progress. Embrace the concept of 'good enough' and keep moving forward. You can always refine and improve later.

This mindset will help you launch faster, test assumptions, gather feedback, iterate and improve.

So, go ahead and embrace the power of 'good enough' this week. Your business (and your sanity) will thank you!

I hope you find this newsletter informative and inspiring. Remember, business success is not just about seizing opportunities but also about staying informed and connected.

Till next time
