Who are you talking to?

The life blood of your small business is customers. Trying to find them, engage them and keep them is a challenge. When you are creating your marketing plan, make sure to start with who your ideal customer is what their needs are and does your product or service meet those needs. Here are 3 things to consider.

  1. Why do your current customers use your product or service? What do they like about it? Can you describe them?
  2. What does your ideal customer look like? Can you envision them? What are their life style and habits? What problems do they have? What other products or service would they buy that would compliment your products or service?
  3. Where can you find more people like your current customers? What have you done in the past to attract them and what new marketing avenues can you use moving forward.

Having an action plan before you spend money in marketing will help you stay on track. Most likely you don't need five thousand new customers; you may just need a few to grow your business. So speak to those who you can help most!
