Who are you? Not on the surface. Who are you at your core?

Who are you? Not on the surface. Who are you at your core?

What do we talk about in coaching sessions?

It doesn't matter.

Some coaching is about how do you live your life, perhaps exploring areas such as:

? Are you doing things in most efficient way.

? Are you getting frustrated by things that don't matter?

? Do you habitually put yourself down in your thinking?

This can be incredibly valuable. But coaching can be so much more.

To me these things are either surface level, or looking for what is happening just below the surface.

Coaching becomes transformational when we ask the question - who are you at your core?

When you ask that question it's fascinating what you'll learn about yourself. The more that you understand yourself, the more you'll find ways to make your life more fulfilling and meaningful.

Who cares if you're doing your day to day tasks in the most efficient way and you're able to stay calm in difficult situations if you're not truly happy?

If you're not feeling fulfilled at a deep level life can feel very empty. Real coaching is about going deep, searching for the core of who you are. That's why it doesn't matter what we talk about.

Think about the planet we live on. You can start drilling from any point on the earth's surface and if you go deep enough you will eventually get to the core.

You are the same. We can talk about anything but if you allow the conversation to just keep going we will get to places that you've never been.

It takes a lot of courage to go shining lights into dark places, but when you do, that is when life begins to get very interesting indeed.

I someone were to ask you who are you at your core, what would you tell them?

Love this, Tony! So true and so powerful. The earth core analogy is brilliant too
