'Where do I spend my time & energy?'
If the above question doesn't come to your mind regularly then, STOP RIGHT NOW.
I have come across people on number of occasions who complain of being out of focus and merely without direction, not knowing what they are up to and where is the path leading them. This happens when you do not focus on your day to day activities, when you don't allocate your time accordingly especially with your forecasted goals.
After all that phrase 'Time is wealthier than money' didn't just appear out of the blue!
To live your life to your fullest potential, you must choose deeds that provide the best return for your time and energy. Happiness for that matter, why would you do something when you dont even know if that would make you happy or not.
But many times, you don't know how to objectively decide where to put your time and energy for maximum results, in such moments this is what you need to do:
*1. Identify your natural strengths/your potential*
First and foremost do not get confused between your strengths and interests. For example your interest can be in cooking doesn't necessarily mean you're amazing at it and therefore it's your strength.
It is true your strength should align with your interest but you need to plan, decide, take risk in that specific direction entirely.
*2. Identify activities where you can use these strengths to best play*
Keep a real check if you are using your strengths to your advantage for example if your strength is 'Analyzing', are you able to identify streams which would most benefit from this skill. It could be becoming a movie critic or a cricket reviewer or a performance coach.
*3. Focus on what you want to achieve*
Believe it or not, this is an incredibly difficult question to answer; when you literally sit back to write what you want to achieve your mind would wander in various directions and summarizing it all in clear words will seem like climbing a huge rocky mountain!
But this is when you have to persist on your power and not procrastinate on finding an answer to this question.
Remember only right questions lead you to right answers, hence ask, ask and ask!
For every multiple chosen question find your most relevant answer.

5 年Great write-up Neha. ????This question, I believe is at the core of mindful decision making. My thoughts on similar lines: "It is ok if you don't know what you want, but it is absolutely imperative to know what you DON'T want".
