Today, I'm going to get to the heart of what I mean by higher Self Leadership and discuss what it means for who you are and how you identify in the workplace and the world at large. You can read the unabridged version of the article "Your Higher Self—Who You Really Are" on my website.
What is Higher Self Leadership?
Many people mistake Higher Self Leadership as another leadership model rooted in personality, ambition, or situational dynamics. However, it transcends these ideas by tapping into the commonality that unites us all: our Higher Self. We all have access to this Higher Self, which represents who we are beyond the egoic identity we've learned to adopt. The goal of this leadership model isn’t about becoming a better version of yourself—it’s about uncovering the real you, who is already perfect and wise.
Who Are You?
Have you ever wondered who you are beyond your job title, responsibilities, or role in life? Often, we identify ourselves with external labels, such as our work achievements or social roles, but these are just layers. Beneath them lies your true essence. This realisation is not just an abstract idea—it’s the foundation of personal and professional transformation .
In every moment, you have a choice: to operate from your Higher Self or the ego, shaped by societal expectations and past experiences. Your Higher Self, however, remains constant, unaffected by external circumstances. It’s the part of you that feels confident, clear, and aligned with your values .
The Higher Self vs. The Ego
The ego, often driven by fear and a need for validation, attaches to external labels like "success" or "approval." This attachment can lead to immense suffering when we lose those labels. On the other hand, your Higher Self remains unchanged, no matter what you achieve or fail in the outer world. It is deeply connected to everything around you and operates from a place of love and unity .
The Power of Neuroscience
Neuroscience reveals that our brains can be programmed to operate from the ego or the higher self. Through mindfulness and reframing limiting beliefs , we can consciously shift our mindset , rewiring the brain for clarity and self-awareness.

Reconnecting with Your Higher Self
Observe your thoughts and question limiting beliefs to reconnect with your higher self. For example, if you believe, “I need to work hard to be valuable,” ask yourself, “Who am I without this thought?” Shifting to a belief like “My value comes from who I am, not what I do” can create a profound sense of freedom.
Stepping Out of Ego-Based Roles
For example, maybe you’ve always been known as the “overachiever, ” defining your worth by your productivity. By questioning this identity, you may realise it was formed to seek approval. As you let go of the need to prove yourself, you begin to operate from your authentic self —allowing your true gifts and values to emerge.
The Reward: Inner Peace and Outer Impact
When you lead from your Higher Self, you experience greater inner peace and create a ripple effect, inspiring others to do the same. This kind of leadership, grounded in authenticity and self-awareness, has a profound and lasting impact on those around you.
