Who Are You Connecting With On LinkedIn?

I want you to start thinking about your LinkedIn connections. The same principles apply whether you have 200, 500, 1000, or 10,000 connections.?

The right resident is somebody you can do business with. And so when we think about it from that perspective, I own this town, and my job as mayor is to bring the best possible residents into our community for everyone to succeed - because nobody wins without each other!

Once you adopt this mentality, you will journey down a path of becoming more effective here on LinkedIn.?

My first recommendation starts with a simple question.?

Who are you connecting with if you're just purely driven by growing that number of connections? Are you doing it for the wrong reasons??

I know plenty of people who have 20, 30, or 40,000 connections or followers on LinkedIn, and it's doing nothing for their business. Ask them how much they're selling, and the answer is not much.?

My second recommendation concerns content.

What kind of content should you create, and how consistently should you engage your community?

Eight years ago, all of my content was driven around getting likes and comments. A dopamine hit that I was seeking. So when I would sit down to think about the article I was going to write or the video I was going to make, it wasn't based on what to do or what I truly wanted to talk about. It was all based on what reaction I wanted to get. And that was the wrong way to build content.?

So today, my content has two purposes.?

Number one, I want to use my content to let you get to know me a little bit, how I think, what I believe, the hobbies I have, the things I do, and how I live my daily life.

Number two. I want to create content that lets you get to know what my business is about and how I can help you.??

Carving out your community and being thoughtful to who you allow in your community while sharing valuable content contribute to a thriving community and improve business sales.?

Community management and content marketing are two essential aspects of any business.

By taking the time to get to know your community and by providing valuable content, you can create an environment where trust and sales can flourish.?
