You can accept or reject your capabilities. You'll just need some clear facts about how you determine what they are.
When you list the evidence of everything you've done, particularly in contrast to what you might have done, or failed to do...
Was your effort complete?
Or will you have fallen short of knowing the truth about what might have been?
It's hard to take credit for success that came easily. You can take great pride in everything you gave your all to.
What are those things?
In the words of Apolo Ohno...
"There is only going to be one champion who can stand on the podium, it does not mean that we can’t be champions of ourselves. Regardless of what place you finish, your effort level and the things that you dedicate towards your passion is what is going to designate who you are as a person, and what you can become."
Apolo Anton Ohno is an American retired short track speed skating competitor and an eight-time medalist in the Winter Olympics. Ohno is the most decorated American Olympian at the Winter Olympics and was inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame in 2019.
