Who is Writing Your Story?

Who is Writing Your Story?

We all have a story.

Some of us may not feel that it is an honorable story or one that others would want to read. Self-doubt may cause us to compare our life stories to others. We may find ourselves editing the pages, erasing mistakes, and rewriting our story to fit a more acceptable narrative because we want to be understood.

Ironically, many of the stories we measure ours against are equally false narratives, mindlessly scripted without passion or purpose. Being the author of your life is a privilege. Never hand it over to another to inscribe.

If we are not careful, we will end up with a ‘library’ filled with fantasy, lacking the wisdom that can only be derived from the untold stories of heartache, failure, loss, pain, and defeat. All lessons will be lost while the pain will remain.

Never erase your mistakes; within them, you can find answers.

Never change your story for anyone because it will no longer be yours.

Don’t be afraid to revisit past chapters for insight and reflection but do not get stuck there.

And NEVER feel that it is too late to be who you are intended to be. Every day you wake up, there is a new clean page, and the pen is in your hands. What will your next chapter read??
