Who is a Woman...

An epitome of grace and beauty, a combination of intelligence and brilliance, women are bestowed to make the world around them more beautiful and cheerful. A seasoned woman is spicy. She has been marinated in life experiences. Like a complex wine she can be alternatively sweet, tart, sparkling and mellow. She knows who she is, she could be anyone of us, as long as she is committed to living fully and passionately in her life despite of failures and false starts. No woman is ugly, illiterate or uneducated every woman carries herself with grace, dignity and integrity. Over hundred years ago women were expected to be wives, mothers tasked with raising goods, moral citizens and keeping comfortable homes. Accepting the fact that this type of ideology still exists in many of the Indian traditional homes. Earlier most women didn’t had careers, with the exception of teachers, nurses, maids and others who performed jobs considered to be appropriately feminine. While there used to be a specific model for exactly how a woman has to look, talk, sit, act and shut up, but those days are long gone. While there are certainly battles raging over how women conduct themselves and ways, they show up to the world are more varied and nuanced than ever, making the definition of woman not universal rather specific to each woman herself.

Culture, I consider plays a very important role in any women’s identity and the. There was a time when most urban women never thought that someday they would claim identities of a writer, author, an activist, an entrepreneur, a designer, actor, singer and what not. Indian woman has often meant sacrificing one identity to preserve another. It meant being conservative over being honest. Womanhood means having the choice to be bold and speak up, it’s about solving problem and carrying a positive attitude. She has emerged from the clearly defined boundaries of her home and entered schools, colleges and defined her right role at the workplace. She effectively juggles her work life, her social life, her family, her home, traditions and festivities.

A woman is a perfect blend of modernity and tradition. She is endowed with greatness and only a woman can unlock the chest that contains powerful and priceless commodity.
