Who will win against GPT-4?
Welcome to the second edition of Kommunicate Korner where we talk about the recent developments in the world of conversational AI.
A little recap from the previous edition -
In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella revealed his ambition to challenge Google’s dominance in the search engine market by adding ChatGPT to its Bing search engine. Meanwhile, Google CEO Sundar Pichai unveiled Bard, a conversational AI service to take on ChatGPT. In addition, it was reported that ChatGPT attracted 100 million users in just two months after its launch, with more than 13 million daily visitors. The Ai war is heating up with each passing day. Global tech companies are working aggressively to launch their AI solutions to win the market by being early movers in their respective industries. Overall, it appears that solutions like ChatGPT and Bard are going to drastically change the landscape of many industries.?
But everyone has that one question - will AI take over humans? We have a suggestion on that, but first, let’s check out the latest developments in the conversational AI space.
OpenAI rolls out GPT-4, a powerful artificial intelligence model that succeeds the technology behind the wildly popular ChatGPT.
Difference Between GPT-4 and GPT-3.5
GPT-4 is ten times more advanced than its predecessor, GPT-3.5. This enhancement enables the model to better understand the context and distinguish nuances, resulting in more accurate and coherent responses.?
As per OpenAI, “We spent 6 months making GPT-4 safer and more aligned. GPT-4 is 82% less likely to respond to requests for disallowed content and 40% more likely to produce factual responses than GPT-3.5 on our internal evaluations.”
While GPT-3.5 takes only text prompts, the latest version of the large language model can also use images as inputs to recognize objects in a picture and analyze them. GPT-3.5 is limited to about 3,000-word responses, while GPT-4 can generate responses of more than 25,000 words.
Here are some of the other areas where GPT-4 has gained more superpowers -?
Microsoft 365 Copilot - the way we work is going to change

“Copilot combines the power of large language models with your data and apps to turn your words into the most powerful productivity tool on the planet,” said Jared Spataro , corporate vice president of Modern Work and Business Applications, Microsoft.
Customers will be able to experience Microsoft 365 Copilot in two ways -?
Very recently, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said that they have been working on AI tech similar to ChatGPT for a long time.?Though he didn't reveal any further details, it has recently become apparent that Amazon is in a bid to catch up with its AI and GPT tech, much like Google, Microsoft, and other big tech firms. One of the most prominent examples is Stability AI, a competitor to Microsoft-backed OpenAI – which recently declared Amazon its "preferred cloud partner" to train and build its AI models.
And in the midst of all this hype around generative AI, there’s also a major question: Is AI “Out Of Control?”
Elon Musk, Steve Wozniak, and over a thousand other leaders in tech, AI, ethics, and more are calling for a six-month pause on AI beyond GPT-4.
In an open letter signed by Musk and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, technology leaders urged for a six-month pause to the development of such advanced AI, saying it represents a risk to society.
“Contemporary AI systems are now becoming human-competitive at general tasks, and we must ask ourselves: Should we let machines flood our information channels with propaganda and untruth?” the letter read.
What are your thoughts on these developments? Do you think such AI systems with human-competitive intelligence pose risks to society and humanity? Do share your thoughts in the comments section.
