Who We Are and What We’re All About
Urban MBA is known as the University for ‘Street Entrepreneurs’, which essentially means we want to pave the way for today’s budding entrepreneurs to become tomorrow’s successful leaders in business and innovation.
As a registered NPO, we have been helping disadvantaged youths since 2015, by providing free enterprise and business skill-set courses that equip them with the necessary tools needed to succeed in the digital age.
Our Vision & Our Founder:
Our mission at Urban MBA is simple: We want to create a world where no young person is lost or left behind.
Our founder, Kofi Oppong, lives and breathes this vision . His path to founding Urban MBA began when he found himself homeless at just 17 years of age. Although he was passionate about sports and familiar with goal-setting in that arena, it wasn’t until he read books like “Think and Grow Rich” and “The Celestine Prophecy”?that he found himself motivated to work hard for the change he needed.
This made him realise how little knowledge he could apply from his school days, which is the primary reason he based the Urban MBA content to be in keeping with current business trends and technologies, with the content continually evolving.
The One Year Course:
At Urban MBA we offer a one year business enterprise course, that incorporates our signature blended learning techniques, teaching our students how to understand business cycles and trends, set goals and learn problem-solving skills.
It teaches all the fundamentals for anyone looking to succeed as an entrepreneur including practical tasks around presenting to potential investors.
This course sets us apart from traditional educational institutions on many levels- the content is relevant and updated, it incorporates business networking and the first module is free of charge.

Becoming a bona fide Business Boss
We know that education is the best tool a person can have in life, helping you learn more about the concepts that fuel you, and hopefully propelling you further down your desired career path.
But education is?more?than just words on a screen, or a line on a CV.
Having the right education sets the stage for your future success. Gaining the correct accreditations and networks to leverage off of it is priceless, and getting valuable work experience is paramount to your future success.
Becoming an Urban MBA Alumni sets you up with a business network for life.
*In future, once we have the accreditation and apprenticeships set up, we can split this into two blocks with links to the accreditation website and the apprenticeship opportunities.
My thought here is that it will be lovely to have an icon when the accreditation comes through, so it’s a button saying something along the lines of , ‘The one year-course is recognised as a certificate in… and anyone who completes our one-year course is an accredited….’

Kye Taliana??is a Video Director, Editor and Director of Photography, who also happens to be an Urban MBA Alumni from 2018.
Having studied with Urban MBA at their Derwent London base, Kye was part of a successful graduate group, who successfully re-engaged with education by finding course material that was relatable.

Kye says his biggest take away from this course is the power of the mind, understanding where we are headed in terms of technology and learning how to take advantage of current trends in your business.
