Who is not visiting the museum?
I sat last night wondering about the problems of museology (because why not do that for good sleep afterwards?), I agreed with the thought that for upcoming museums we must remember what leaders in the field are already showcasing through their work:
Instead of only asking, who visits museums and what their needs and interests are, we perhaps also need to expand our reach and really ask, who isn't coming to museums, and why? How can our museum be of relevance to them and serve them? How do we communicate with them and involve them in the process?
Through The Mazzedaar Laboratory my attempt is to bring those to a museum who wouldn't otherwise and facilitate dialogue and conversations on issues that might either be ignored or too difficult while keeping it playful.
