"Who is viewing me?"

Why "who viewed your profile" is the most valuable piece of information on your LinkedIn account. And how you can see more of this information also without a LinkedIn premium account.

Unless you are using LinkedIn primarily as a broadcasting channel you might have an interest to see who is interested in your profile.

Why is this section so important?

Because it literally shows you whether you are successful with your marketing strategy trying to attract your target audience. And it provides full names of those who viewed your profile.

It makes it easier to reach out, connect and expand your firts degree network.

This is relevant for;

-         sales people trying to attract customers

-         any employee trying to attract an new employer

-         employers trying to attract employees

-         fund raisers trying to attract sponsors

-         anyone trying to attract anyone

Paid feature

You might be aware that LinkedIn is hiding this section as a paid premium feature but there are some possibilities to "cheat" and view more than five persons a day without any additional cost;

1.      As LinkedIn is showing the last five persons over a period of 90 days one of the solutions is to open this section much more frequently, especially when you have an increasing number of viewers. Opening this feature multiple times a day gives you more different names everytime you open it. You can open the feature as often and frequent as you like without additional cost.

2.      You can open a trial account with LinkedIn and have unlimited access to this feature for 30 days without paying.

3.      The third option is to buy a Sales Navigator account and get this option for free on your regular LinkedIn account.

Another more complex option is to invite your visitors to reveal themselves in another way by asking them to connect with you or actively invite them to like or comment on your posts. Some suggestions to increase this engagement;

  • Post about a hot topic which is in the news
  • Post something very personal or with an emotional touch
  • Provoke a discussion making a certain statement about a development in your specific work field or discipline (the more sensitive the more chance of interaction). E.g. Robotics are a threat to the future, Chatbots will never be able to sell anything, Bitcoin is dead etc.
  • Post about some very attractive piece of content for your target audience and make them react in the comments to get it
  • Literally ask them to connect with you in as many posts as possible and mention this in your professional headline as well

With these techniques you will get the names either in the comments, likes or as a connection request.
