Who should be my Center?
This is the third article in the series Unravelling the truths about life and Growth.
If we want an integrated, balanced, stable and progressive life, we must have a Center. We need to be deeply attached to our Center. But the question is who or what should be our Center. To find the answer to this question, lets dive deep into a conversation between Sree Sree Thakur Anukulchandra and American Journalist, Michel James Michael. During his visit to the Satsang Ashram James asked Thakur Anukulchandra, “Could you please explain your ideology in just two words?” Thakur replied, “Be Concentric.” James asked, “Be Concentric around whom?” Thakur replied, “Be concentric around your Living Ideal.”?
The aforesaid conversation answers the million-dollar question: Who should be our Center?
In the solar system, the Sun is the Center for all the planets. On this earth, the Living Ideal or True Guide is the Center for humans. The Sun is larger, stronger and brighter than all planets. Similarly, the true Guide is superior, stronger and wiser than all humans. The Sun brightens the planets with its light. The True guide enlightens all humans beings with the glow of his wisdom. Hence, the true Guide needs to be our Center. We need to be concentric around the true Guide- the eternal source of enlightenment and life energy. Now we know that the Center of our life needs to the True Guide and the Guide has to be superior to us in all aspects.
Like the Sun holds all the planets together, the True Guide holds all aspects of our life together. If one doesn’t have a True Guide, one’s life can get fragmented. If the sun is not there, what would happen to the earth and other planets. According to Sree Sree Thakur Anukulchandra, one who doesn’t have a True Guide may have an enlightened rise. But such a person? will? an equally enlightened fall as well. A building without a strong foundation may stand tall for sometime, but it will collapse sooner or later. If one tries to draw a circle without a center, one would end up drawing a zig zag line. If one tries to design one’s life without the True Guide, one would get a misaligned and disjointed life.
There are three types of Centers in life:

a)??? Imaginary Center
b)??? Inferior Center
c)???? Superior Love Center
An Imaginary center is abstract and formless. Many people in this world believe in an imaginary center in life. Such people get hooked to an imaginary God. They find it convenient to have an imaginary God. Because an imaginary God would never dissuade them from doing anything wrong. He doesn’t interfere in my life. George Bernard Shaw says, “Beware of the man whose God is in the skies.” Such people cannot engage, interact or talk to such a God.
An Inferior Center is one who is lower than my personal dimension. It is someone who is less than me in most aspects. It could be my son, daughter, brother, friend or any one else. Many people in this world have an inferior Love Center. Their life revolves around such an inferior center. Such a center in life can neither elevate nor inspire us.
A very few people in this world have a Superior Love Center. A Superior Love Center in life is actually the Living Ideal or True Guide, He is larger than our personal dimensions in life. To have an integrated, stable, cohesive and progressive life, we need the Superior Love Center in Life- our Living Ideal. We need to be concentric towards such an Ideal or Guide. We need to have untottering and unflinching attachment towards Him. Sree Thakur Anukulchandra says,” Attachment to the Great makes you Great unconsciously.” He again says,”The higher and broader the Ideal, the better. For, as high and broad your Ideal is, so high and broad you too become.”
