Who is Seeking TRUTH Today?

It was a simple request. I just wanted to get some sense of how important the quest for TRUTH is today by identifying a few individuals who are seeking it and reading what they were saying about their quests. My hope was to get some additional insight from people on the national level who were seeking TRUTH.

Ai answered with several individuals, most of which were Pod Cast hosts or so-called news correspondents, philosophers, and writers but I gained little from them. They were primarily seeking truths that I belief do not exist. Truths that were foregone conclusions and not based upon research, facts, and experimentation.

TRUTH cannot be made up or wished into existence. It must be based upon more than what we wish it to be. I was, for example, directed to several investigative journalists, individuals that by their professional title were supposed to pursue stories seeking TRUTH. Several of them have been in the business for a long period of time. Others are recent addition utilizing new forms of communication such as POD casts, on-line platforms, and cable news outlets

The recent elections are a prime example of how many of them worked to distort the TRUTH. An emphasis was placed upon personalities, stretching the truth and taking things out of context to fit certain narratives. The results of the elections came down more to how most people felt about who was offering the best solutions over if they were convicted law breakers, wanted to destroy democracy, or were mean, evil people. Voters based their decisions on what had been accomplished in the past, including what was not being accomplished by the current administration. Through all this, we saw a highly biased news media trying to convince us of truths even though the facts and our experiences were considerably different.

I was most disappointed in individuals that I once trusted and respected, news outlets that we once could count on for the TRUTH because they pursued it, and sources I grew up listening to because they were investigating and uncovering the TRUTH. What happened to them?

CNN Business speculated that, “As audiences increasingly embrace online platforms, podcasts, YouTube videos and other digital sources of information are ascendant while traditional news outlets struggle to remain relevant. On social media, in-depth investigations are often ignored while misleading memes get shared millions of times.”

Mainstream media outlets have been losing public trust for decades, because they are no longer pursuing TRUTH but are pursuing audiences and dollars first. Reporters are not doing the hard work of reporting and vetting information; they’re talking about what others have gathered.?The election results showcased big disconnects between how news outlets reported on the economy and how swing voters?felt?about the economy. The facts were one thing, but the feelings were another.

I felt that it was most interesting that Harris and her team put an emphasis on having celebrity endorsements and support where Trump focused on more “relatable “images such as fry cooks and garbage truck drivers. The facts are one thing, but the images are another. If you had to characterize who were the greatest supporters of Harris and Trump, who would you say. The rich and famous vs. middle-class America. Exit polls and voting patterns supported this.

In the end, who is seeking the highest level of TRUTH today? The conclusions proved by the mandate Trump received indicate that we the American people are not stupid, we value liberty and freedom, safety and security are important to us, and we are concerned about inflation, the rapid rise of government spending and the costs of everyday goods and services. As the fall-out from the elections continue, as the picks for various offices come up for vote, as those defeated speak out and act, who truly are seeking TRUTH and who is only looking out for their own good?
