WHO SAYS THERE IS NO HURRY IN LIFE?

“Softly, softly catch the monkey!” “There is no hurry in life!” “Slow and easy wins the race!” I am yet to see a monkey caught softly, softly. I am yet to see a successful life without hurry - especially in Nigeria. Slow and easy has never won any race in the Olympics. Fast and steady wins races. So do not “take it easy.” The Bible is right that the race is not to the swift, but it never said that it is for the slow. Ben Johnson was swift and won the 100m dash in the Olympics in 1988 - leaving others spellbound. But he was swift in cheating. He did not run an honest race. So the race was not for him. The man who came second took gold medal. He took the gold because he ran in that race. Swift and easy lost to fast and steady.?

If you are taking “it” easy in life, you have got it all wrong. You have to run (not walk) your race, fight a good fight of faith, change gears and run faster and faster and faster! Slow and easy wins nothing. Fast and steady wins everything, every time.?

Listen, you are in a high speed environment. Have you ever been in a car scorching the tar at 1,000 mph (1609 kmph)? I bet you have not because there is no car like that. The current thinking is that cars cannot do that speed because of mechanical resistance, rolling resistance and air resistance. Yet the earth is spinning like a wild spinning top at 1,000 mph and breaking every resistance known to science. The earth is in a hurry and we cannot live in it and not hurry.

The fastest airplane in the world is the North American X-15 with a record of 4,520 mph. It is a hypersonic rocket-powered aircraft owned by NASA and USAF. But before you give NASA and USAF the thumbs up, hear this: the earth is hurtling around the sun at an unbelievable 67,000 mph (107826.048 kmph). Which means the fastest plane in the world only does less than six percent of the earth’s speed around the sun. Isaiah 5:26 says “…behold, they shall come with speed swiftly.” God wants us to come to Him with speed, swiftly because the earth is moving with speed, swiftly. God created a speed environment and we live in a speed matrix.

Men and brethren, this earth that we are, temporarily, in, is spinning and hurtling at breakneck speed, and you tell me to take it slow and easy? No. You have got to follow the example of the earth. Break every resistance and go at maximum speed. Never ever let the devil trick you into thinking that there is no hurry in life. When God points the way out for you, hurry towards it with Godspeed. Life is about speed and speed is distance covered compared to time. Pray to God to teach you to number your days and deploy speed - cover the greatest distance within shortest possible time.
