Who is right?
There is so much fearmongering and hyperbole going on now, and it helps exactly no one. In US politics democracy is not on the ballot and the sky is not falling. Rather than let the media or the politicians tell us what to think, we need to simplify the process. This is not a new concept, but we need to do our own work. Make a list of what is important to you, then see which candidates / political party align closest. There is no perfect match. I'll go first, I want to:
1) secure our borders and have plenty of immigration and vetting, verses an unsecured border with no vetting.
2) End Fentanyl poisonings.
3) Cheap energy and for our country to get control of inflation.
4) Law and order and our citizens to be safe.
5) Our leaders to focus on our problems first. We can be a great help to the world, but we need to have our own house in order.
6) Free and fair elections
There are additional things that are important to me like world peace, end hunger, etc., big things. There are also things that will be resolved on their own at the will of the voters. But this is the base where I start and then pick the party that most aligns with what's important to me.
Clearly others are free to have their own priorities and opinions, and they will vote accordingly. But we all need to vote. It's a wonderful right and responsibility.

7 个月Hello Jerry! Well said - its the "little" things that matter - like maybe a safe Border. The sandwich board guy would be better off going with a "The End is Near" pitch...much less hassle year-after-year! You know, kind of like the "Free Beer Tomorrow" signs they used to trick me with back in the day. ??

Well said MMFWIC Jr. Len
