Who will resurrect this Easter?

Many of us go through Life trapped in some aspect. It could be a job or the need for money, relationships, family, friends, colleagues, power, position, wealth…and the list goes on. We know that only we actually know the Journey that each of us takes in this Life. Everyone else knows only a part…a part that they were in with you. Even that part they know only from their point of view and not yours. So, why do we decide to remain trapped?

As we go through Life, so many things happen. Based on our past experiences and new relationships that are formed as we go through Life (whether marriage, family, colleagues, friends, job, money, wealth, etc), we begin to believe that we need one or more of these to get through our Lives happily. The operative word is happily. But, guess what? Some of these traps are the ones that actually do not keep you happy. They give you some happiness/satisfaction in certain aspects but unhappiness in some other way. We consider the balance of the happiness and unhappiness and believe that if the balance is towards happiness, we continue doing what we are doing.

Whatever be the situation, the only one who knows how our journey of life was or is, is actually only you. And there is one more person who knows it because S/He is inside you. That is the Creator, Nature, God or whatever name you want to use.

So, why am I discussing all this? Because all of us go through this Life trapped in something or the other at any point in time. And what I am going to tell you may sound selfish and you may not agree with me on this. This Journey of Life is yours and only yours. No one else knows or can even fathom it. They may cast aspersions on you. They may call you selfish and self-centred. They may call you as someone who is concerned about the self only. All this is fine. Remember, even in a flight when the oxygen masks come down, the instruction is to put it on before you help another (even if that is your child). Nature teaches you a lesson. When under attack by a predator, animals only try to save their young ones to a certain extent. They move on if they realize it is futile.

Each one of us has a Life to lead. Live yours. Don’t go through Life pleasing others, especially if it is at the cost of your happiness. You may find yourself regretting at the end that you did everything to please someone or for something and those same someone/somethings don’t come with you when you die. When you are in your death bed, ask that someone or the somethings if they would like to accompany you in death. You know the answer. Because if someone else asks you this question, you will be on the run before they decide to take you in their death!!!

So, stop living your life for someone or somethings. Live life for yourself. If you are trapped, it is time to resurrect. It is Easter today. This Easter, figure out who will Resurrect!!!
