WHO REPLACED WHO??????

THIS WAS ORIGINALLY POSTED EARLY THIS MORNING, WHEN I COULD NOT SLEEP, ON THE OAK RIDGE BOYS FAN PAGE...I EDITED ONE SENTENCE AND ADDED A PHOTO....

The OAK RIDGE BOYS were the OAK RIDGE BOYS before any of us joined. I replaced Smitty Gatlin and Joe replaced Willie Wynn. Richard replaced Noel Fox and William Lee replaced Jim Hammil. Had it not been for the earlier members paving the way for us, there may not have been an OAK RIDGE BOYS. The very day I joined the group, they were discussing dis-banning the group. The earlier group was very successful. We all had our favorites before any of the current members were here. We had many hits with “Singing Steve”. He played in our band before he sang with the Oaks. He wrote for our publishing company before that. As a solo artist, he was the biggest record seller in Gospel music. I know because he recorded one of my songs. I was paid royalties. The nine years he was here were very good. He was the ultimate professional. He left us when he felt he needed to leave. He left the Earth way too soon. We are happy that things worked out so that William Lee could return. We do not compare one with the other. Every person who has been a part of our group has had a divine purpose and came along at the perfect time when they were needed. One great thing about the OAKS is this. Each member has fans that are their favorite. Last night, Allen Jackson said his favorite is Richard. In fact, Richard recorded with him. It is not a big deal who is one’s favorite, at least with me. When one wins, we all win!!! I am just thankful to God that we get to do what we love to do and that you like what we do. Joe and Richard have the lead parts on the biggest hit in our history. I am thrilled every time RICHARD hits the low notes and the audience explodes. Thank you all for your kind words. I awoke wide awake. Maybe I needed to just visit with you. Hahaha. On my phone, one finger at a time. Now, maybe I can go back to sleep. Haha
