Overview of "Who Moved My Cheese?" by Spencer Johnson: "Who Moved My Cheese?" is this fantastic little story about motivation and how we deal with change. The story unfolds in a maze with four characters: two mice, Sniff and Scurry, and two little human-like dudes, Hem and Haw. They're all in search of "Cheese," which stands for, in most respects, what we all want from life: success, happiness, or a fat piece of money. The maze represents the world or environment one navigates through when searching for these desires. While going through the maze, they find various problems and changes they did not expect to face, like cheese disappearing from a usual place. Sniff and Scurry: These mice use simple approaches. When the cheese runs out, they set out without considering the situation and search for new cheese. Hem and Haw: Both are more developed in thoughts and feelings. When the cheese is gone, Hem resists change by staying in place and waiting for the cheese to come back. But later on, Haw realizes that accepting change will bring success and happiness. So, in this story, Haw learns that rolling with the punches and stepping out into the great unknown is the key to going on. He even writes some profound things into the maze walls, such as "What would you do if you weren't afraid?" and "The quicker you let go of old cheese, the sooner you find new cheese."The book concludes with the gathering of several friends to discuss how the story applies to their own lives and occupations, sharing concerns, their resistance to change, and how becoming proactive will truly serve in facing all these changes occurring around them.

Key Takeaways:

Change is inevitable. Learn to accept that life is entirely of unexpected changes.

Adapt rapidly: The faster one can accommodate change, the less stress one will endure.

Fear holds you back. Releasing fear frees you to move forward, which can expose you to other great?opportunities.

Be?proactive: Look for change; don't wait for it. Be ready to change before you have to.

This painting encourages the reader to invite changes, be flexible, and continuously seek new opportunities with an opportunistic attitude.

Warm Regards.
