Three faces:
I drive to office ever since my wife is carrying and I mostly try to follow the rules. Often I get into a rage when others do no follow rules and you look as an outcast. If you have ever visited any foreign country, you know how people drive there. You don't feel stressed or tired after driving the vehicle there and all you need to worry about is your vehicle and way you drive. I saw a post from Kerala Police today and today's note is based on their post and three faces I have seen today.
Face 1
Heavily modified Toyota fortuner like the black version of one attached and driven by techie. Road was crowded due to the road work happening near technopark. I was following the lane and this guy took the space next to me, which was marked continuous white line intended to not to cross it. Following his pattern every one started driving through that place. I asked him to follow the lane and first he said sorry. Then in a while he saw me in parallel road, requested me to pull down the window and sarcastically explained that he was ought to take a left and where he is supposed to go ?
Face 2
There was incomplete part in the service road between Kulathoor and Infosys. I and have seen many others normally wait for the opposite vehicle to pass to avoid congestion and risky driving. It being an uphill and completely malformed with potholes, I take a lot of care because of my wife and of course the vehicle. Now a middle aged man just drove through, while I was at the top of the uphill. I asked him if he could have waited until I came down. He was screaming as if I should have drove through the pothole.
Face 3
After dropping, I came back through the same way. I waited for couple of vehicles to cross at the same point and I started the uphill drive. Opposite was a mini truck driver, who earns a little compared to any others mentioned above was patiently waiting for me to pass through. I waved at him at the gesture of thanks.
Now who is educated here? Was the techie who had spend a fortune to modify his vehicle but cares nothing about his fellow drivers or the middle aged man who felt my way or highway or the polite truck driver? Or is it that my expectation is too much ? I will let you decided. Please follow rules at least till the work is complete. That will make our trip less stressful. Education is the not the only criteria to evaluate a human being. It is kindness, compassion and taking care of your fellow beings too.
