Who makes your heart skip a beat?

In 2022,I had this massive crush on this really close friend of mine.

When we were close ,he was someone that loved God a lot and I thought to myself "hmm ,I have found my spec".

For me, one of my love languages is quality time so I started calling him a lot and at some point, he stopped picking my calls.....lol

So I was really worried about him and started reaching out to some of his friends only to find out, he is okay and nothing was wrong. He saw my calls but didn't return them.

I was really hurt and I was talking to one of girl friends, Chisom about it and She said a statement that got me thinking.

She said" Have you ever thought about it that this is how God feels like when you refuse to have a conversation with him?"

Then it suddenly clicked in my head that because I have spent a lot of my time thinking about him ,I haven't even had a conversation with the holy Spirit lately.

Isn't this what happens to us all when we enter a new relationship ,friendships or when we suddenly find what we enjoy and we forget about holy Spirit?

The question I have been sent to ask you today is

"When last did you gist him about your day?"

"When last did you have a decision to make and ask for his opinion?"

"When last did you have a project to work on and said....Holy Spirit, how should I do it?"

For me ,it was in the process of going through that hurt and turning to holy spirit that I found out my friend didn't come into my life to date but for my spiritual growth at that point in time.

The Holy Spirit is waiting to be your friend

He wants to enjoy you like you enjoy him

There's a dimension of knowing God that you can get to that can be unlocked in the process of friendship.

Haven't you ever wondered how Abraham is called a friend of God? Or how Moses became the only one God had a conversation with face to face?

See Numbers 12 vs 6-8(NIV)

he said, “Listen to my words:

“When there is a prophet among you,

I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions,

I speak to them in dreams.

7 But this is not true of my servant Moses;

he is faithful in all my house.

8 With him I speak face to face,

clearly and not in riddles;

he sees the form of the Lord.

Why then were you not afraid

to speak against my servant Moses?”

Let's not even start with David and how intimate he was with God.

I read some of the things David wrote in pslams and I'm like this is so deep.

Before you start pursuing anything else be it career, friendship or anything else, friendship with him is one of the first things to desire and work towards.

When that is sorted, everything else will be sorted out.

God is a person ,he has emotions too and he wants to get to know you.

Just you and him.

My priority now is making him the one person that makes my heart skip a beat.
