Who Makes the Decision... Is it YOU or the MACHINE?

Undoubtedly, technology has changed the way we make decisions, and we live. Nowadays, the manmade machine has achieved power over the thinking ability of humans to some extent. The digital age has transformed the human ability to think, as they are dependent upon machines at much extent.

Are Machines Interfering with the Decision-making Process?

Our ancestors used to make decisions by analyzing the situations on their own. The advent of powerful machines like calculator, mobile devices, Google Home, Alexa, AI, AR, and VR have made the work easier for humans. However, for simple calculations or switching on/off of the lights, everyone is getting dependent upon these technologies. This reflects how much machines control our lives. For example: In order to switch off/on the lights in my bedroom I would ask the google to switch off the light even if I am standing next to the physical switch. The question is are we so much dependent on these technologies. Something we may have to re-think!

According to Statista, the market size of AI will increase to 899 billion U.S. Dollars by the year 2025. Even experts are of the view that most of the human decisions involve interference from machines because Machine Learning systems have started understanding your behavioral patterns.

Will You Allow Machines to Make Decisions on Your Behalf?

The future belongs to machines as Machine Learning has evolved drastically. A News report states that by the year 2020 AI will be at par with the human intellect. This means half of the decision-making power regarding your personal choices or the business will depend on the digital aspects. But, have you thought about the consequences? Many scientists believe that if the decision-making power is provided to machines beyond an extent that it can prove fatal for civilization. Humans have morals but machines work on algorithms as automated systems, AI, VR, etc.

Moreover, it depends on the personal choice of individuals as well. If you are keen to get the production work fast or want to track consumer behavior, then the virtual devices are the only choices. Like, Amazon has robots working in its warehouse that is minimizing the human error and even replacing humans too. Overall, by looking at all aspects, humans have to control machine behavior rather than letting them control you.

Does Future Belong to Machines?

The present era depends upon the sensor and embedded technology, which is mostly used across the globe. The big brands are working to provide a better and easier life for the users. Moreover, technological innovations are now involving micro-sensors that work with the changes in your physical movements.

This means that machines have already taken control of the human brain. The pairing devices will be your bodies where just with the reflex movement you can connect with another human. The scientists are even working upon harmonizing nanobots, DNA, and synthetic biology to create the learning devices. Overall, it looks fascinating but still with little control in human hands these machines will not prove destructive.

Finally, the human-machine relation is a collaborative one, which can give way to larger support if used for humanity and other advancements. However, if you are completely depended on the machines, then one day it can overpower the human race and cause destruction as stated by a few scientists.

I believe, it is our base fundamentals that differ a Human from Machines and when these fundamental get invisible the machines will overcome us.

I was just reading about technology the other day on LinkedIn, though they had the opposite opinion! Great to get both sides.
