Who Leads the Pack?
Today is the Ides of March—the day Julius Caesar was killed. A soothsayer warned him to beware, but he didn’t listen, and look how he ended up! This got me thinking about leadership and things we can learn from others. Then I remembered another story and I thought I would share it with you. We can all learn an invaluable leadership lesson from the pack of wolves in this picture! ?
The three in front are old and sick. They walk in front to set the pace.
The next five are the strongest. They protect those in front from attack.
The ones in the middle are fully protected.
The five behind are also among the strongest in the pack.
The last wolf is the LEADER. He ensures that none are left behind. He keeps the group tight and on the same path. He is ready to run in any direction to protect the pack.
Being a leader is not always about being in front.
It is about taking care of your team.
