Who knew sending 100 emails a day isn’t a waste of time?

Coming out of college I was a wet behind-the-ear, scrawny IT guy who had no work experience and absolutely no job critical skills. Hopelessly, filled with an optimistic view of the world. It's not a good place to be when you need real-life experience for you to be able to acquire a job. Thankfully the world humbled me quickly when none of my emails were being answered by companies that I would apply to.?

Till capacity did, one of my former classmates reached out to me about an initiative they had seen on SABC a few years back. He then went on to forward me a link and about how I should give it a try knowing full well how much I enjoy the tech industry.?

?So, I sent an email and my email within a few days was answered. And after completing a small assessment and logical test I was receiving a call from Cape Town interviewing me on where I see myself within the Tech industry in the next few years. As soon as that telephone call had ended, I received the email informing me that I had successfully then picked as a candidate for a program capacity was running.?

?All this was a shock and almost unreal at times but being in the presentation Hall and listening to capacities candidate managers devolved the secrets of the corporate world and its intricacies fascinated me and I couldn't help but raise my hand and ask questions and get real solid feedback from industry-tested individuals.?

?By the end of the fourth day, I was able to write a full-on research piece on what my career path entails as well as its different job descriptions responsibilities and what skills were important solely based on a few presentations that captivated me and were easy enough to digest for even someone wet behind the ears. It's only been a few days, but I now carry myself with confidence not only myself but in the people that trade me that they will get me ready to become the best employee at whatever company I am placed at without this opportunity I'll still be that scrawny "IT kid" sending our hundred emails two different companies and not receiving a response and slowly becoming pessimistic instead of the upbeat optimist?

?This is all thanks to capacity saving my outlook on life and allowing me to experience this great opportunity and I can't help but look forward to getting into the office and being greeted by managers and supervisors that are eager to assist not only teach but help.?

I really can't wait for what's next and what is in store for me !
