Who knew? BAs are all about collaboration, trust and integrity
In March 2022, the BA Manager’s Forum ran two workshops focusing on team values. In each workshop, 40 Business Analysis leaders selected their top ten values out of a choice of 75. Word clouds were generated to highlight the most popular values.??
A low ranking does not mean that a particular value is not important, it has simply not made the top ten. For example, nature, unity and risk-taking were not high scorers – but that does not mean our business analysts would be averse to signing up for a sky dive or going to a New Age woodland festival. They simply ranked the other values higher.??
So what are the values that tell us about the true nature of business analysts? The highest ranking values were collaboration, trust, integrity, teamwork, curiosity, leadership and creativity, with kindness, empathy, honesty and respect not far behind.?
There are a lot of lovely people in the BA community, aren’t there??
* For the eagle-eyed among you, there is a rogue word in the cloud... the work of a mischievous delegate who ranked a dairy product as top of their list of BA qualities. There's always one...
