Who is heading to Vegas for Cannabis week?

Being this is my 6th time heading to MJBIZCON, below are a few helpful tips to making it through the week!

1. Make your health a priority.

Pack some hand sanitizer, vitamin C, and some of your favorite over the counter medicine. Hopefully you enjoy your time here and avoid getting sick. Be prepared for some increased personal hygiene habits before and during your stay.

2. Pack Masks

The masks are back. Nevada is requiring people to wear masks indoors, regardless of their vaccination status. This applies to all casinos, hotels, and yes, convention centers, like the Las Vegas Convention Center

3. Comfortable Shoes

Convention halls are made to hold large amounts of people which means there will be large amounts of walking. Keeping your feet happy will help to keep you going. One of the most common walking mistakes people fall into, is thinking something is closer than it actually is. Just because you can see it does not mean it is close.

4. Make Sure You Network.

Time and time again the relationships you make during these events can form into friendships. Also year after year the professional relationships help to get new leads. Do not discount the power of networking at any trade show. Also be sure to have a pen handy to write down notes on the back of business cards so you can remember who it is you met, some details may slip your mind.

5. Stay Hydrated!

Drink lots of water often. Las Vegas is extremely dry with very little humidity. Most places have complimentary bottles of water or you can bring your own and refill it as you go. Ignoring this step can lead to getting sick or unplanned downtime during or after your stay here.

6. Practice Empathy

There’s never been a MJBIZCON quite like this before. People will be experiencing all sorts of added stresses like mask requirements, social distancing, and travel concerns. Then, there’s also the increased pressure of maximizing business leads and sales in what’s been a year and a half of sluggish economics.

Showing your fellow MJBIZCON 2021 attendees a little extra grace, compassion, and space will go a long way this year. It may be the first time some people have traveled under pandemic guidelines and restrictions. Other people may struggle with leaving their families for the first time in months. And still, others may be excited to network in person again and experience learning opportunities to help them grow professionally.

7. Do Something Different.

There is a ton of variety here in Vegas. Abundance of food, entertainment, and outdoor sites just a short drive away. Get out and do something different and explore the possibilities away from your conference location.
