Who Do You Work For

Who Do You Work For

For many the answer would be they work for somebody else.

But the question I then ask is why do you work for somebody else?

I suppose I should be asking, why do you not have your own business?

When leaving the British army at 26, I was told by someone that I should work for myself, his words were to make myself rich and not somebody else.

I did, starting my own business, but it certainly got me thinking.

In school and growing up, we're told if we work hard and get good grades, we can go on to higher education and get a good job working for somebody else.

If not, we end up with a low paid menial job again, working for somebody else.

Can you see the problem here?

The educational system does not set us up to own our own business. It just creates workers for other people's business. Think about all those years, working yourself silly to progress in a business that is not yours, under the control of the employer, meaning that we have no freedom because they actually try and control us.

We have to work when they say, they allow us to take holidays only when it's convenient for them, time off?

Well, we're allowed a certain amount of time off because God forbid what would happen if we took more time off?

Well, I can tell you what would happen.

The owner of the business would not make as much money.

Now, having your own business is not for everybody, that I understand. Some people think they want an easy life where they go to work and then can come home and leave work behind them.

Well, if you want an easy life, it's not for me to judge people for it, but how many people actually leave work behind them?

Most become slaves to their job. Still thinking about it when they're at home, looking forward to the weekend, which is forever short and wishing their life away, waiting for retirement. Really you should be looking at what you want to do in your life.

Now, if you want more time, more money and more freedom, how does that work when you're working for somebody else?

Well, it doesn't because your time is theirs. Your 9-5, or however they work it, they feel that they own you.

You will always be dancing to their tune.

You get paid a wage, it's a fair exchange of value, don't get me wrong, your time for their money.

But what value do you put on your time?

Remember time is the most important commodity in this world, as once it's gone, we can never get it back.

Also, remember you get paid a monetary value that is determined by your employer and will always be limited by the value that they place on you and how much they think you're worth.

Now money, isn't everything. I agree, but it does allow us to live the life that we desire and deserve.

There are a lot of people out there who do not have a good relationship with money, thinking it is the root of all evil and it's not good for them because that's what they've been taught, usually by people who are also uncomfortable with money.

But it's only when you can feel comfortable with money and have an abundant mindset, are you able to grow, by having your own business you're able to make more time, more money and more freedom in your life.

What would you not want this?

There are many answers to this question, but only you can answer it for you.

We all, including you, have the ability to start our own profitable businesses, even though you might not believe it.

It's only when you actually realise this, that you're able to live a limitless life.

I hope you found this informative and useful.
