Who is in control, you or your body?
We think we are in control, but all we do is manipulate our bodily functions.
If you think about it, our bodies are in charge of the majority of things we do from day to day: Breath in, breath out. We feed it when it tells us we are hungry. We drink when it tells us it is thirsty. We sleep when it tells us it is tired.
Yes, we can push the boundaries of all these things and more, but ultimately we do as our bodies tell us. In essences we have to manipulate or take control as much as we can, to achieve the highest potential possible. Now this doesn't mean that we all have to push ourselves to be competing at the olympic games, winning at Wimbledon or be the next inventor of a groundbreaking product. All it means is that whatever it is that you do, ensure you give yourself the best chance of being able to get the most of your brains and bodies.
Starting by eating a balanced, healthy diet. This will give you the fuel to get through the day, no matter what it has to throw at you, with enough energy to keep you going. Staying hydrated, to avoid potential headaches, muscle cramps and to also help the body flush out any unwanted toxins. Getting a good nights sleep, which will help recharge the batteries, so that you are at less of a disadvantage as soon as you get up and prepare to face whatever the day has to throw at you.
If we look after ourselves as best as we can, then this will reduce stress, anxiety and help to build resilience and wellbeing. Having stronger resilience and wellbeing, will make even the most difficult and stressful of situations seem a lot less of a concern and easier to manage.
