Who Cares? Really?

How can we hope to solve any problem when we refuse to face reality and acknowledge it?

Until we stop being embarrassed to speak and talk bluntly, frankly and, without guile about those issues that affect our lives at the very core and have the overwhelming and total capacity to cost our lives, sanity and wellbeing, these tragedies will continue to take place I am afraid.

I am 50 years old and, one of the things that continues to prevent any chance of us as a specie finding true and lasting happiness, fulfilment, a strong sense of purpose which is inextricable from the motivation to keep living and looking forward to it, treating others kindly and nicely, with consideration, compassion, understanding and some degree of indulgence and, being a positive and not a toxic and negative influence on others and our surrounding is the need for us to be open and speak openly about so many issues especially that of securing gainful employment so that we can earn a living so as to provide for our needs and those of our loved ones.

And, give us that absolutely crucial sense of self-esteem, dignity and purpose without which a healthy life cannot be lived.

I have observed that people sometimes avoid those in need as if avoiding a plague or, someone with leprosy. And, they do it with so much creativity that is almost worthy of Michelangelo in his sublime mastery.

It seems people don't want the fact that people are in need to be mentioned as it seems put a burden on them. It seems it makes them feel obligated to help and yet, they have their own troubles to deal with.

People want others to be strong and just suffer in silence. People are admired for being strong enough and bearing whatever it is they are going through alone. It is commended and, highly acclaimed.

In many cases, even when people say "Reach out", "Speak up" and so on, they hope no one does. At least, not to them. It's fine as long as someone else is the one who is responsible for it.

It is precisely why and how we are in the mess that we are in as a species and, a few people have several billions out of the 8 Billion of us on the planet.

Most of us are busy, trying to be one of those few people with more than enough to make it possible for thousands of human beings to live a life of decency, fulfilment, self-esteem, dignity, purpose and, some measure of freedom to fully experience and enjoy life which makes the life force for us all that much stronger instead of hoarding and hogging what could benefit thousands and giving it out as "philanthropy" in trickles or crumbs like that thrown to dogs from the dinner table.

We let it happen.

Too many of us are just too impressionable by others simply because they have money or, are "famous" which is most dubious thing.

What does it mean to be "famous"?

Until we have more and more people who aren't so easily held under something of a spell by the dubious magnetism of the wealth possessed so-called celebrities which we gave them almost like a donation making them fabulously wealthy while many of us live paycheck-to-paycheck and would become homeless if we lose our jobs and don't get one month's salary.

We need to wake up and realize these things if not, we shall all continue to suffer some of the things that we do and, our kids might suffer even worse.

We need to break that "hold" that individuals hold over us which made people support monsters such as Hitler and others throughout history and still do till this day with what's going on in China, Russia and other countries.

Being a human being who's free of the influence of others and able to seek and acquire, then analyze relevant data to formulate conclusions based on logic and reason is a precious service to humanity.

Do that first.

We might not say it but, many of us want people to suffer in silence and keep their because letting us know makes us feel uncomfortable particularly if we cannot or are not inclined help them.

It's complicated beyond measure.
